K's Hawthorn Thorn Drop Earrings

My dear friend K walked with me, and took photos of me while I left offerings for the fae while harvesting these thorns. K was a beautiful spirit, and the white to my black. She experienced so much adversity, and violence in the past few months, and recently chose to end her life. In memory of her beautiful spirit, and November being domestic violence prevention month I will be donating the proceeds of these 3 remaining pairs to Nova house emergency and transitional shelter for women, located in Selkirk Manitoba. As a survivor of domestic violence, this is an important way for me to honour my friend, and many others who like me, have experienced intimate partner violence.
These one of a kind real hawthorn thorn earrings feature a lever back closure, which is important, as these thorns are extremely light. Painted intuitively, each pair is hand done and contains the variations of nature as perfect symmetry doesn’t exist in the natural world. The glitter helps to catch the light, and lets them show through even the wildest of manes. These are fragile items, and should be treated as such, stored carefully, and not worn if physical contact or excessive horseplay is anticipated.
Right now, these drop earrings are the only hawthorn jewelry I offer, however I have plans for other designs in the future. These are one of a kind, and as they are from nature there are variations between the two thorns in a pair. These are the only hawthorn thorn earrings made from the actual thorn, that are for sale as jewelry online, as far as I have sourced.

Harvested from the local quarry park, offerings of sweets (for the fairies), and tobacco are left when I choose the branches to cut. Each hawthorn is hand cut, with care, and a screw is placed inside. They are painted, or glittered and protected with resin in order to cover up the extremely sharp end. The little clear drops on the end of each thorn are strategically created, by hand, one by one, and mimic the beauty found in nature post rainfall. It’s a moment in time captured, so reflect and meditate in the very fleeting existence of our natural world, and adorn yourself in that perfection.
